Loving You is the Best Thing I have Done 爱你,是我做过最好的事 Chapter 1.1

Chapter 1.1 - 苏叶 Perilla (1)

Recently, I have started to suffer from insomnia.

Insomnia is really painful, because in a quiet night, in the face of the silent world of the night, you will be calmer than during the day, and look at things more rationally.

After being calm and rational, I sadly found out that I tend to be closer to the truth and the essence of things. This means panic and anxiety for people who are used to being ostriches. At least that's how I think.

Thinking about the past, thinking about the present, thinking about the future, thinking about interpersonal relationships, thinking about doing things for people, thinking about the childish past, thinking about the current growth.

Anyway, I can't fall asleep, I always want to make time consumption more meaningful.

Many ideas often end with no results. In other words, if you think about it, you think about it in vain. But I still stubbornly think about it. Many ideas are entangled. You can't pull it with brute force. The more you pull, the more you will get entangled and it will make you feel more troubled and painful.

Therefore, the only way is to let it entangle and to look on without lifting a finger (illa: not involve yourself in it)

Shen Xifan opened her eyes and listened to the tick-tock of the clock. She gave up her struggle to resist insomnia, accept fate and opened her big eyes, watched the vast night while thinking of a thousand different things.

Turning and sighing, it has been five days in a row, and if I continue like this, I will be driven crazy, strained during the day, and not relax at night. Hotel work is originally a high-intensity occupation, especially as a manager of the guest room department. If I go on like this, I might I will die in the line of duty

She thought about work and felt stressed for no reason: I really can’t say whether I like or dislike this kind of work, but I think it is enough that I have enough money to get by; although I did use a small number of personal connections when I was looking for a job, I was successfully promoted to manager within three years later. To others, it seems like a gold collar, but the pressure also comes with it, now, she is insomnia due to work.

She hugged the pillow, howled, half-kneeled on the bed, thinking, during break time tomorrow, she must go to the hospital to get some sleeping pills to eat.

It was not easy to fall asleep, and she didn't know how long it took, then her mother suddenly called her. She looked up, it was just a little over seven o'clock. She wanted to cry but had no tears. She barely fell asleep and was woken up.

Mother Shen is still old-fashioned, nagging, "Fan Fan, Aunt Wang next door wants to introduce a lad to you, he is a Haigui, although his looks are not outstanding, but he has a house and a car..."

(illa: Haigui is a chinese language slang term for Chinese people who have returned to mainland China after having studied abroad for several years.)

Shen Xifan was annoyed, if she didn’t have enough sleep, she has a very bad temper, disregarding the consequences, she yelled angrily, "Go f*** the turtle, the green turtle!" (illa: Gui can also be pronounced as turtle)

Mother Shen was startled, "Fan Fan, are you still sleeping?"

"I didn't sleep well at all, Mom, recently I've lost sleep, I'm dying, let Aunt Wang give me some sleeping pills, if it continues on like this, your daughter will really become the White Bone Spirit!"

(illa:  White Bone Spirit is a shapeshifting demoness in the novel Journey to the west, and in her true form she is depicted as a skeleton.)

Mother Shen blamed, "How can sleeping pills be casually eaten?" Fanfan, why don’t you go to see a Chinese medicine doctor? Treat it with some Chinese medicine. Anyway, there are decoctions in the pharmacy now, and you don’t need to do it yourself. Your father had diarrhoea last time and only took two doses...”

She scratched her hair, visit a Chinese doctor, maybe it would be a good idea. Anyway, it was just a little money. Her barren has no sleep now. Now all she has left is money.

She waited for a long time in the Chinese medicine clinic but still was not called. The Chinese medicine building was cold and desolate, opposite was the large pharmacy, neatly arranged in small rows and sealed, one or two people walked between them, holding the drug list. She remembered last time she had a cough when she was a child, she was taken by her grandmother to a well-known old Chinese medicine doctor.

Suddenly, a nurse came by the door, Shen Xifan hurriedly shouted, "Miss nurse, can I ask, what about the doctor in this room?" The nurse looked at her medical record and said apologetically "Miss, sorry, Dr. He just went to the acupuncture room, I’m going to call him now, please wait."

While talking, she saw a tall man coming out of the innermost room, supporting an old man, the nurse was quickly pointed at Shen Xifan, shouting, "Dr. He, You have a patient!"

Shen Xifan originally thought that the traditional Chinese medicine doctor is the old man with grey hair and beard. She has never seen such a young doctor, and he is so handsome ---- he is really very handsome, just like those nobles, celebrities and elites she receives in the hotel every day, this man can even score more than ninety points, it is just that he had a very cold expression.
